Bain Capital is in the process of raising money for a second life sciences fund, less than two years after it amassed $720 million for its inaugural fund targeting the fast-growing sector.

The life sciences group has invested in at least 14 companies so far, according to its website, including local biotechs Dicerna Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: DRNA) and Solid Biosciences (Nasdaq: SLDB).
